SPECIAL EVENTS
We've got some super fun stuff planned for you this weekend!
  • Juniors Catalog Cover and Art Contest: All juniors can submit artwork for the catalog cover. One piece will be selected for the catalog cover, and the rest will be featured throughout the catalog and on our web page. Theme - Mittens and Kittens, Winter Holidays and Cats.
  • Open Art Contest (and Possible Art Auction): We are actually having three art contests. Two will be limited to Juniors: the Junior Catalog Cover and catalog art contest, and the Junior Art show and Contest. The third art contest is an Open Art Contest for any age and anyone who wishes to enter. You do not have to be present to win in these contests. The Juniors Art show is free unless the entry is mailed in. In the case of mail-in entries, please include return postage. Winners of both the Junior Art contest and the Open Art Contest will be selected by ballot of the spectators and exhibitors at the show. Juniors may have their entries included in all three shows. Various media will be allowed in the art show events - sculpture, painting, fabric crafts, photography, graphic design, etc. Contact the show manager if you have any questions. Prizes will be awarded in both the Junior Art Contest and the Open event. The themes are Kittens and Mittens, Cats in Winter and General Seasonal Art.
  • Educational Seminar: We will be presenting an educational seminar on Saturday afternoon/evening following the show. The Seminar may begin before 5:00 PM if all judging has been completed. We will be having food and light refreshments for those that attend. Fee is $10.00. Basic Genetics and Embryonic Development in the Cat and the Latest Developments in New Colors and Patterns This will be presented by Lorraine Shelton. The Approved Allbreed Sponsor is Ellen Crockett. Judges CEU credit will be given. This is something that ANYONE that is interested in the new CORIN colors, Amber and some of the other new developments should really attend!
  • Holiday Bazaar and Christmas Market: We will be having a number of booths and vendors, and hope to see some wonderful cat and seasonal related items available for you. Contact our vendor coordinator, Maureen Clark, for additional information and rates for vendor space.
  • Junior Ring — Junior Exhibitor judging will take place on Sunday morning before regular judging begins. The Junior event will be officiated by Robin Austin.
  • Raffle — We'll have a great raffle, with a wide variety of cat-related items (and other stuff that's just plain useful - or just plain fun). Raffle tickets are less expensive when purchased in advance; you can order yours via the Summary Sheet. (Please note that you cannot pay for your raffle tickets via PayPal, due to their anti-gaming regulations; if you pay for your entries using PayPal, please pay separately for your raffle tickets by credit card, check or money order.)
